Aluminum Single Panel
Production Process
From raw aluminum coil to finished architectural panel -- a transparent, end-to-end manufacturing workflow engineered for precision, consistency, and project-grade quality control.
Precision at Every Stage of Manufacturing
PUMAY's aluminum single panel (铝单板) manufacturing process is designed to meet the strict requirements of architectural facade projects worldwide. Each panel passes through a controlled sequence of forming, surface treatment, coating, and inspection before it leaves our Foshan factory.
Our vertically integrated workflow eliminates third-party quality risks, ensures dimensional consistency across large project orders, and supports full custom specification -- from thickness and alloy grade to color, finish, and perforation pattern.
From Raw Material to Finished Panel
A transparent view of how every PUMAY aluminum single panel is manufactured, inspected, and prepared for your project.
Raw Material Inspection & Selection
QC CheckpointAll aluminum coils and sheets are sourced from certified suppliers meeting AA-grade alloy standards (1100, 3003, 5052 series). Upon arrival, each batch undergoes incoming quality inspection including alloy composition verification, thickness tolerance measurement (±0.02mm), surface defect screening, and material traceability documentation.

CNC Cutting & Blanking
Aluminum sheets are fed into CNC precision cutting equipment programmed directly from customer-provided shop drawings or our engineering team's technical drawings. This ensures every blank is cut to exact project dimensions with clean, burr-free edges. We support standard rectangular formats as well as irregular shapes, angled cuts, and special-geometry panels.

Bending & Folding (Corner Forming)
Cut blanks are transferred to CNC press brake machines for precise edge bending and corner forming. This step creates the characteristic folded-back edges and stiffening ribs that give aluminum single panels their structural rigidity. Bend angles and return edge depths are programmed to match project specifications, ensuring consistent panel geometry across thousands of units.
Welding & Corner Reinforcement
Panel corners are reinforced by MIG welding or mechanical corner brackets depending on panel size, application environment, and client specification. Welded corners are ground smooth and blended seamlessly to ensure a clean visual appearance. Corner reinforcement guarantees structural integrity under wind load, thermal expansion, and long-term outdoor exposure.
Pre-Treatment: Chromate / Anodizing Preparation
QC CheckpointBefore coating, panels undergo a multi-stage chemical pre-treatment process. This includes alkaline degreasing, acid etching, chromate conversion coating (or equivalent eco-friendly treatment), and deionized water rinsing. Pre-treatment creates a chemically active surface that dramatically improves paint adhesion, corrosion resistance, and long-term coating durability. This step is critical for PVDF coatings on exterior facade applications.
Electrostatic Powder / Liquid Coating
PUMAY operates dedicated coating lines for both fluorocarbon (PVDF) liquid coating and polyester powder coating. Panels are sprayed using electrostatic spray guns in a dust-controlled environment, ensuring uniform film build across all surfaces including edges and returns. PVDF coatings are applied in a minimum 2-coat or 3-coat system (primer + topcoat + clearcoat) for superior UV resistance and color retention on exterior facades.
| Coating Type | Application | UV Resistance | Warranty |
|---|---|---|---|
| PVDF (Fluorocarbon) | Exterior Facade | Excellent | 20+ Years |
| Polyester Powder | Interior / Semi-Exterior | Good | 10+ Years |
Curing in Baking Oven
After coating, panels enter a temperature-controlled curing oven where coatings are thermally cross-linked at precise temperatures (typically 200-230°C for PVDF). Controlled curing ensures full hardness development, adhesion strength, and chemical resistance. Temperature profiles are monitored by digital controllers and recorded for each production batch to maintain traceability.
In-Process Quality Inspection
QC CheckpointEach finished panel undergoes a comprehensive in-process quality inspection by our QC team. Inspections cover coating film thickness (DFT measurement), surface appearance (color uniformity, orange peel, flow lines), dimensional accuracy (length, width, diagonal), flatness (bow and warp), and hardware installation alignment. Non-conforming panels are flagged, reworked, or rejected before proceeding.
Hardware Installation & Accessory Assembly
After passing quality inspection, panels receive their project-specific hardware: mounting brackets, hooks, T-slots, riveted reinforcements, or custom fixing systems as specified in the project drawings. Each panel is labeled with a unique panel number corresponding to the installation layout drawing, enabling on-site installers to identify and position each panel without ambiguity -- a critical service for large facade projects.
Protective Film, Packaging & Export Preparation
Final QCApproved panels are covered with a protective PE film on the coated face to prevent surface scratches during transit. Panels are then stacked in custom wooden crates or pallets with foam interleaving, edge protectors, and moisture-barrier wrapping for sea freight. Packing lists, panel layout drawings, and quality inspection reports are included with every shipment. We support FCL, LCL, and project-based phased delivery schedules.
The Complete Manufacturing Flow
Standards & Testing We Apply
Every PUMAY aluminum single panel is manufactured and tested against internationally recognized standards for architectural facade applications.
Coating Adhesion
Cross-cut adhesion test (ISO 2409 / ASTM D3359) performed on cured panels. Minimum Grade 0 (no delamination) required for all exterior-grade panels.
UV & Weather Resistance
PVDF coatings are tested for UV resistance per ASTM G154 (QUV accelerated weathering). Color change ΔE ≤ 2 after 3,000 hours of UV exposure ensures long-term color consistency on facades.
Salt Spray Corrosion
Salt spray test per ASTM B117 / ISO 9227. Panels must show no blistering, delamination, or corrosion after 1,000+ hours of salt fog exposure -- critical for coastal and high-humidity environments.
Dimensional Tolerance
All panels are measured against project drawing dimensions. Length and width tolerance: ±1.0mm. Diagonal tolerance: ≤2.0mm. Flatness (bow): ≤1.5mm per meter. Ensures seamless installation alignment on-site.
Impact & Hardness Testing
Pencil hardness test (ASTM D3363) ensures coating surface hardness ≥ 2H. Impact resistance test (ASTM D2794) verifies coating flexibility and resistance to mechanical damage from handling and installation.
Batch Documentation & Traceability
Each production batch is assigned a unique batch number. Material certificates, inspection records, coating test reports, and packing lists are archived and available upon request. Full traceability from raw material to delivery.
