The minimum hole diameter is always constrained by panel thickness; a practical guide is that hole diameter should be ≥ panel thickness.
How do I specify the open area ratio for my project?
Open area ratio (OAR) is the percentage of perforated area relative to total panel area. It directly affects solar shading performance, ventilation rate, structural rigidity, and visual transparency. For facade solar shading, we typically recommend 20-35% OAR. For ventilation screens, 40-60% OAR is common. For acoustic ceiling panels with backing, 15-25% OAR is optimal. Share your performance target and we'll calculate the appropriate hole diameter and pitch combination.
What file formats do you accept for custom patterns?
We accept DXF, DWG, PDF (vector), and AI (Adobe Illustrator) files for custom pattern input. Our CNC programming team will convert your design file into a punching program and send you a digital proof for approval before any tooling is committed. For parametric or gradient-density designs, we can also work from a described algorithm or reference image -- our team will produce the DXF and seek your confirmation.
What is the difference between PVDF and polyester coating for exterior use?
PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) is the industry standard for exterior architectural aluminum. It offers superior UV resistance (ΔE ≤ 5 after 10 years), salt spray resistance (≥3,000 hours), and color stability -- typically backed by a 25-year coating warranty. Polyester powder coating is more cost-effective and suitable for interior applications or sheltered exterior environments, but it will chalk and fade faster under direct UV exposure. For any exterior facade application, we strongly recommend PVDF.
What is the typical lead time for bulk production?
Lead times depend on order volume, pattern complexity, and coating type. As a general guide: standard patterns (round/square hole, stock colors) -- 20-30 working days from deposit. Custom patterns with standard PVDF colors -- 30-40 working days. Custom patterns with color-matched PVDF -- 40-50 working days. We can discuss priority scheduling for time-critical projects. Please share your on-site installation date and we'll work backward from there.
Can you provide test reports and material certifications?
Yes. For each project order, we can provide: aluminum alloy mill certificates (chemical composition and mechanical properties), PVDF coating test reports (salt spray, UV, adhesion, gloss), dimensional inspection reports (per batch), and coating warranty letters. Third-party testing by SGS, TÜV, or Bureau Veritas can be arranged at additional cost. All documentation is issued in English.
Do you supply installation fixings and sub-frame systems?
We primarily supply the perforated panels themselves, with folded flanges and fixing holes pre-fabricated to your shop drawings. For sub-frame systems (aluminum T-profiles, Z-profiles, or concealed clip systems), we can supply coordinated components from our facility or recommend compatible system suppliers.
